The Creative Growth Art Center is located among many of Oakland's other galleries in the Uptown neighborhood. However, Creative Growth is special in that it serves artists with disabilities, whether it be mental, physical or developmental. The gallery provides these artists with instruction, and more importantly a place to express themselves through art and a chance to have it displayed. Works produced here end up being exhibited in various places throughout the country.
