A melting pot of culture and arts in Turnhout, De Warande was one of the first cultural centers to be opened in the entire Flanders region. A modern facade, complete with a sleek glass front, gives the building a timeless look. Founded in the year 1962, it was designed by noted architects Schoeters, Wauters and Vanhout. It comprises of a concert hall, theater and a multipurpose events venue, apart from an array of smaller spaces. Home to various cultural projects, this center is abuzz with a host of events throughout the year, including numerous concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, and workshops. In the past, noted troupes and solo artists like Lee 'Scratch' Perry & Pura Vida Dub, Suzanne Grotenhuis and Sprookjes Enzo - De maan in het zand have enthralled audiences.
