The Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey is a prominent baseball stadium located in the Parque de Niños Héroes. Since its opening in 1990, this stadium has rose in prominence in the baseball scenario of the country, and has hosted some very memorable national as well as international matches. Boasting a capacity of 27,000 spectators, this stadium is the largest baseball stadium in Mexico. One of the memorable encounters witnessed here was the 1996 game between the San Diego Padres and the New York Mets , which marked the advent of Major League Baseball in Mexico. Besides baseball matches, the stadium also plays host to cultural events, like concerts and festivals.
