Dat Dogs offers big flavor in their small location on Freret Street. This colorful and casual restaurant caters to big appetites with a simple menu– hot dogs and fries. Choose a sausage from a menu of ten varieties. Traditionalists can opt for the German wiener or German beef wiener, while the more adventurous can go with a Slovenian sausage or alligator sausage. All sausages are served in a steamed and grilled bun and topped to the customer’s order. The toppings include different mustards, diced red onions, wasabi, sauerkraut, andouille sauce, cheddar cheese and chili. For a full meal, pair a dog with a basket of golden brown, cheese, or chili cheese fries. -Bethany Culp
