Die Staatstheater Stuttgart is a theater that consists of different branches that include the Opera Stuttgart, Stuttgart Ballet, and Stuttgart Drama Theatre. The theater is notable for its royal design by Munich architect Max Littman, and was constructed between 1909 and 1912. The Opera House is one of the few opera houses to survive the bombing of World War II, a miraculous feat given that much of the city was leveled. After extensive renovations, the opera house was restored to its former glory. Its magnificent Greek inspired sandstone facade gleams under the tangerine sunsets of Stuttgart. Ballet and drama enthusiasts frequent this cultural symbol to enjoy the spectacular shows.
