Aarhus Cathedral was dedicated to Sct. Clemens, a pope in Rome around year 100. The Cathedral is Denmark’s biggest church with a capacity of 1200 seated people. It was first built in a Roman style around year 1200, and later on in the years 1450-1520, the cathedral was expanded to a Gothic Cathedral. Inside the cathedral you will find beautiful frescos, a baptismal font and an altarpiece of Bernt Notke. Besides masses, the cathedral also hosts concerts. A visit to the tower is possible for a small admission fee. During mass the tower is closed.
