Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen is one of the oldest and most privileged museums that enunciates the French knack for arts. Built in 1801 by Napoleon I, the museum archives a collection of paintings, sculptures and art works from the Renaissance age to the present time. There are various spaces within the museum that cater to different eras, artists and forms of art. There are over 8,000 works here including masterpieces by greats like Poussin, Caravaggio, Velázquez and more. The museum has also received its collections through several donations like the Depeaux collection that exhibits the Impressionist works. The collections are very awe-inspiring and explicate much about French history. A great visit for all art connoisseurs!
