Gastropubs have become incredibly popular in the United States over the past few years and Post 390 takes the concept and brings it further. Many of their special culinary touches are done in-house - the sea salt for margaritas is smoked there, as the barbecue sauce on the ribs is house-made, as is their root beer and delicious chipotle ketchup. Post 390 serves up designer comfort food but the slight shades of pretension do not detract from the cuisine - from the half pound Kobe beef dog to the fried haddock on brioche, each meal comes with serious love and attention to detail. The dining area and bar and cozy and there is a warm atmosphere; it can get quite loud but not oppressively so. Reservations are recommended.
