Mexican American Cultural Center was established in 1986 for the dissemination of Mexican culture and Latino arts in the city of Austin. Within the center are two galleries which feature some awe-inspiring works by local and national Latin artists. This is also the venue for many cultural events like live music shows, exhibitions, screenings, discussions, classes and camps. One such event is the Annual Texas Fiber Arts Exhibit. Organized by The Texas Museum of Fiber Arts, this month long festival showcases some of the best works in textiles and fiber. Artists from many parts of Texas display their talent here by by laying stress on the latest trends.
