Dating back to the 17th Century, Studienkirche St. Michael is an active house of faith in the town of Passau. Also familiar as Jesuitenkirche, it was established in the year 1678 and built to the designs of noted architect Pietro Francesco Carlone. Exhibiting pure Baroque architectural style, the building's exteriors feature Italian design. The interiors are done with a linear layout adorned with columns. An expression in white, the cylindrical vault has been embellished with stucco artwork by celebrated artist Giovanni Battista Carlone. Paintings by Frans de Neve and Johann Spillenberger, among others, grace its high walls. In the past, Studienkirche St. Michael has hosted well-curated concerts by bands and musicians like Blaue Blumen and the famous Turkish composer Fazil Say.
