Rouen

Once the most important towns in Medieval France after even serving as the capital to the Anglo Norman dynasty, Rouen has the distinction of being the town where Joan Of Arc was burnt at stake in 1431. Rich in architecture and history, one must visit the Notre Dame cathedral which gained fame after the legendary artist Paul Monet painted it. A number of Gothic structures, museums and botanical gardens across the city make it a popular destination with locals and tourists who flock here to be part of history itself.
