Orangerie Kassel is a historic Baroque structure which once used to be a greenhouse for orange trees. The construction of the castle dates back to the early 18th Century where it replaced a small garden house which had been built as a summer home. Today, a part of the castle is used as a planetarium, museum and astronomy cabinet where interesting tours of the entire castle are provided including special tours for kids. Another part of the castle has been turned into a venue for dining and is often used to host a number of private events and occasional cultural programs.
