This unique museum is one of the most famous in Lund, and perhaps in all of Sweden. It culls the finest and most fascinating artifacts from Lund University's collection of centuries' worth of objects from cultures all around the world. Objects of African art, indigenous Scandinavian archaeological finds, native American products and ancient Greek sculpture can be seen side-by-side. There are also archives relating to these finds and the anthropological department that collected them, which can be viewed by appointment. Established in the 1870s, Kulturen is among oldest museums of the open-air kind in all of Sweden. Apart from interactive exhibits, the museum includes a living museum where you can experience farm life of the Medieval Ages. A number of great programs for kids of all ages are offered here throughout the year, check their website for the event schedule.
