Troubadour has been around for just about forever and has played host to such musical luminaries as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Marianne Faithful and Joni Mitchell. Barely changed since its 1960s heydays, come see the theater, music, comedy and poetry readings it's well-loved for. Inside, its reassuringly bohemian, full of vaguely beatnik clutter and alarmingly low stools. The clientele ranges from artsy students to locals and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The food is hearty and filling and includes cheap pub-grub favorites such as shepherd's pie and Sunday roasts. The venue also has a separate private section called the Gallery, which can be hired for private events like drink and dance parties.
