Maysles Cinema is housed inside the Maysles Documentary Center, a space dedicated to documentary films and their discourse. In operation since 2005, the theater holds exhibitions and discussions of documentary films from popular and relatively unknown filmmakers. Equipped with the latest technology, the cinema facilitates a democratic cinematic experience where filmmakers are present for the screening of the film and have active discussions with their audience post the screening. A small but variable fee is applicable for admission. The cinema opens one hour prior to showtime with audience members encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to get a seat.
