The Hague, known to its residents as 's Gravenhage or simply Den Haag, The Hague has long been the Netherlands' Royal city, usual residence of the Royal house and littered with landmarks relating to its kingly history. The Hague is better known internationally as a United Nations City, seat of the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court and the tribunals instituted to try war criminals from Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. The Hague is also a lovely city of mixed designs and architecture and has more than its share of lovely old buildings, historic walks, musuems, shopping and world class restaurants.
The Hague also includes the seaside districts of Scheveningen and Kijkduin, the most famous resort towns in Holland and close by are a number of historical communities like Delft, a historical center of industry, and Leiden, home of the oldest university in the Netherlands.
