Escher in Het Paleis

The MC Escher museum, officially known as Escher in het Paleis or Escher in the Palace, contains the greatest collection of the famous Dutch artist's works in the country. though not himself a son of The Hague, as one of the nation's most recognizable artists of the 20th Century. Escher's works were deemed a national treasure after his death and a foundation begun to purchase and preserve them. The museum is now housed in a former palace on the Lange Voorhout and is open to the public.
