Named after the state senator during its inception is the Alfred Lawson, Jr. Multipurpose Center. It is the sports facility for the Florida A&M University which mainly plays the role of a volleyball arena. The venue also hosts cultural events like performing arts, comedies as well as concerts as it can seat about 9639 audience members. The Florida A&M Rattlers athletics also have their home ground at this stadium.
