The Lawson Arena was established in the year 1974 mainly to host ice-hockey matches. It is owned and operated by Western Michigan University. With a seating capacity of 4000 seats, it hosts basketball, hockey, and synchronized skating tournaments since its inception. The University teams for ice-hockey, basketball and skating use this venue as their home stadium.
