4747 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA, United States, 19112
The Navy Yard, once called the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard was one of the state's most important naval bases for more than a hundred years. Established during the 18th Century, the shipyard was the first such structure to be built in the country. Beginning in the 1990s however, the area has undergone massive redevelopment and is now a business hub with giants like Tasty Baking Company and GlaxoSmithKline setting up their offices here. There are still a number of places one can visit in the area including the Commander's Quarters, which is listed as a national heritage site, and the memorial to the Dorchester Chaplains.
