USM Reed Green Coliseum the Green House has been home to Golden Eagles, the basketball team of the University of Southern Mississippi since 1965. Before the construction of this arena, the basketball matches used to be played in the USM Sports Arena which was built in 1949. The local basketball fans fill this stadium in large numbers to support the home team throughout the season. USM Reed Green Coliseum is also known as The Yurt. This state-of-the-art arena was named after Reed Green, a former student, coach and athletics director of the university.
