It is named in honor of philanthropists and business people, Dan and Ada Rice, whose foundation donated the fund to build a quality center for sports in Benedictine University. Dan and Ada Rice Center is the university's recreational center as well as indoor sports venue. The facility features an arena for basketball and volleyball, racquetball courts, an indoor track and field, a conference center and swimming pool. There is also the Athletic Hall of Fame and Trophy Room within its premises. The Trophy Room showcases the achievements of this renowned couple.
