Built around the 11th Century, the Stettenfels Castle is a breathtaking historical landmark. Once owned by the Fugger family and several other dukes, the castle overlooks the town of Untergruppenbach. An important castle during the Middle Ages, the Burg Stettenfels is now used to host various cultural events. The castle can be rented for large receptions, concerts, conferences, etc. The castle also has a beer garden which can be accessed by visitors throughout the year. Aside from hosting various cultural events, the castle also hosts a medieval festival every year which attracts droves of visitors. Various attractions at the fair include music and artisans, jousting tournaments, jugglers and other entertainers, and people dressed in medieval costumes.
