Schloss Ettlingen is an important cultural institution in the heart of the city. Stemmed from the Middle Ages, it took its present Baroque form in the 18th Century after Margravine Augusta Sibylla decided to rebuild the old castle. Its sumptuous frescoes by Cosmas Damian Asam in the Asamsaal, the Knight's Hall and splendid courtyard are some if its key highlights. Today it houses the town museum and wedding reception. However it is also available for exhibitions, fairs, cultural programs and business events such as conferences and seminars. Asamsaal is often used for concerts and the courtyard is hosts the castle festival annually.
