Established in 1902, Mickey's Tavern is located in a gloomy corner of Williamson Street, overlooking the Yahara River. This place is one of the city's last remaining authentic neighborhood watering holes offering cheap beer and strong cocktails in a smoke-laden atmosphere. The original bar room has been unchanged since the 40's. Behind the bar there are rooms with their walls painted with bright colors and mid-century furnishings, making guests feel like they're in the midst of a house party where anything can happen. The table service is prompt and friendly, but you will have to get your own drinks from the bar. The menu mainly consists of pub-grubs, but they also serve amazing pizzas, pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy fries and hamburgers. Mickey's Tavern do not accept cards, so make sure that you bring sufficient amount of cash when you visit this place.
