Scenic and historic, this quaint market town, Masham has a lot to offer. The footpaths and fine views of Wensleydale make it a favorite with walkers whilst the variety of town-center attractions is enough to detain even the most demanding day tripper. Of its many interesting buildings, St Mary's Church is probably the oldest, its 15th-century spire concealing its pre-Domesday origins. Make sure you go on at least one of the two brewery tours (Theakston's and Black Sheep) on which the area's distinctive traditional ales can be sampled.
