Located in Griffith Park is the popular Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens occupying an area of 133 acres (54 hectares). With over one million visitors a year, the zoo and gardens are home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna from around the world. The massive space is neatly divided into different zones for convenience. Although all of them are worth visiting, The Lair, which opened in 2012, houses some of the rarest and most endangered reptiles and amphibians. The zoo hosts some of the best events in the city. It promises to be a wonderful combination of fun and learning for the whole family.
