The largest winery in Georgia, Chateau Elan Winery And Resort was established in 1984 and is produces some of the finest wines of the area. While it specializes in growing Muscadine grapes, Simon Bergese, the winemaker, also experiments with hybrids and native variations too, including the Norton and Edelweiss. Guided wine tours are organized daily for a nominal fee. One can taste the collection at the two in-house dining rooms.
