Designed by E.W. Lewis and W.E Trent in 1930, the Apollo Victoria Theatre originally opened as a cinema to cater to movie lovers. It was converted into a theater in the late 1970s and after several renovations, now boasts of a capacity of over 2000. Plays, musicals and comedies are staged here. So far, the arena has witnessed thousands of performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Starlight Express alone! Wheelchair spaces are available in the auditorium, but have to be booked well in advance. If you get hungry after a show, just step out and you will find scores of quaint eating joints close by.
