Named after San Diego schoolteacher and chief landscape designer of world-famous Balboa Park, this 79-acre park offers grassy areas perfect for picnics, kite-flying and lounging on a sunny day. Sixty acres have remained undeveloped offering a great opportunity for hikers to explore. Visitors to the park can make the journey to the top of the hill located within the park, where they may be able to glimpse the peaks of Mexico on a clear day. Those who'd like to make a day out of it have access to the parks several barbecue pits, a picnic area, and a grassy area perfect for tossing the frisbee. Dogs are welcome, but only on-leash.
