The main Tokyo venue and probably the best known thanks to Cheap Trick's live album, seats around 13,000. It started life as an arena for martial arts and, in between concerts, is still used for this purpose. Although it still hosts big name bands, the acoustics are not particularly good and it is not always easy to see the artists on stage. Nevertheless, a concert at the Budokan is definitely worth experiencing. There is a restaurant that serves Western-style food and alcoholic drinks, plus a coffee shop. Ticket prices vary according to the artist.
