With an aim to facilitate sports and cultural entertainment, the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium broke ground in 1957. Construction took place over two years before it was finally completed in 1960. It uses the pre-stressed dual cable roof system design, making it a popular piece of modern engineering. Since then it has witnessed a number of sports like ice-hockey, basketball and wrestling programs. The arena was earlier named as the Utica Memorial Auditorium till 2017.
