Croton Point Park in the Croton-on-Hudson village is a park with a variety of amenities including a boat launch, a miniature aircraft airport, tent and RV camping, cabin rental, fishing,cross-country skiing, group picnicking, walking and hiking trails, a museum, a nature study, pavilions, a playground and swimming. A considerable chunk of the land on which the park is located today was a landfilling site, which was maintained and operated from 1927-1986 by the Westchester County government. The landfill has since been restored and transformed into a green space. The Croton Point Park is also home to a range of historic sites such as an old manor and a set of wine cellars.
