The Granada is a historic performing arts venue in the heart of Lawrence. Established in the year 1928, it was originally opened up as a burlesque venue and converted into a silent theater in the year 1934. Through a major restructuring in the year 1993, it emerged as one of the city's top concert venues, featuring sell-out shows by noted troupes and solo performers like The Strokes, Ben Folds, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Flaming Lips. The Get Up Kids, a popular Kansas band, furnished their live music album titled Live! @ The Granada Theater here in 2005.
