Cascade Theatre, situated in the heart of Redding, is an art deco performance theater that is equally known for its stunning decor and interesting lineup of performances. The beautiful building that this theater is housed in was originally built as a movie theater in 1935 and was part of the Golden State Theaters Chain. After many years of entertaining people, this theater closed its door in 1997 and stayed so for few years to come. In 2004, the building was purchased by Southern Oregon University and the JPR Foundation and was brought back to its original glory after spending a huge amount in restoration work. Since then, Cascade Theatre housed in the historic building has played host to a wide range of theaters, musicals, concerts, as well as, all kinds of business and corporate events.
