This Mbombela Stadium is located on open land a few miles outside the town of Mbombela, and had been constructed specially for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The area is now a sports-precinct, with Mbombela Stadium at its center. Nearby Kruger National Park has influenced the design of this attractive stadium up to a great extent. The multi-purpose three-tiered stadium has a capacity to seat more than 40,000 fans, with seating as close as possible to the field, and most seats covered by a cantilever roof. Sports fans can combine a trip to the nature preserve with watching their favorite team play.
