Few places are closer to paradise than the island of Hawaii. Hawaii, which is also referred to as the Big Island, is the largest in the string of islands that go by the same name. The island is believed to take its name from the Polynesian man who discovered it, the legendary Hawai'iloa. Hawaii's terrain varies from azure waters crashing on to white sand beaches, to mountains that are so tall, they receive snowfall in the winter. Visitors to the island will be awestruck by the verdant jungles, sandy beaches, and towering volcanoes that make up this varied and endlessly beautiful landscape.
