Olympiastadion Munchen is one of the biggest sports venues in Germany. Built in the year 1972, the stadium is a massive structure crowned with spectacular glass canopies. Designed by architect Gunther Behnisch, the canopies are inspired by the majestic Alps mountains. With a seating capacity of 69,466, the mammoth Olympiastadion was built for hosting Summer Olympics in 1972 and has played host to finals of the FIFA World Cup in 1974.
