Built as the Loew's Wonder Theater in 1929, the United Palace theater was acquired by the Christ Community Palace Church in 1969. After being undertaken by the church, the theater was refurbished to give it a divine and religious feel with Buddha and elephant carvings adorning the walls, while still retaining the overwhelming feel of the theater. Today, the vaudeville theater is known for hosting a number of concerts and events. It is also used by the church for its cultural and religious activities and a number of film and television shoots are also held here.
