Within the Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts, is The Albuquerque Journal Theatre. The overwhelming architecture of the place has won the theater accolades and awards, thus making it suitable for a variety of events. It seats 691 people, has a 1,700 square feet performance area and three levels of seating, viz, orchestra, mezzanine and balcony. Great care and detailing has gone into the making of the theater, that is visible from the elaborate architectural fineness. The performance area is padded with rubber beneath the wooden floor to allow comfortable movement to the dancers. The theater is a premier performance venue within the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
