The First Church in Cambridge is a founding member of the United Church of Christ. Since 1636, it has opened its doors to those faithful to God. The church has come a long way from its puritan roots to its present pluralistic constitution. It was one of North America's first protestant churches. Everyone is welcome irrespective of race, class, gender and sexual orientation. The church has several events happening throughout the year including bible studies, environmental activism and interfaith meetings. First Church is an ideal venue for weddings and pastors perform same-sex weddings as well.
