The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private Portuguese institution with a public focus. The foundation seeks to support education, sciences, social and charity work, and the arts. It includes two museums, an art library, concert venues (including an outdoor amphitheater) and a diversified garden, not to mention a number of exhibition rooms. All these buildings are surrounded by a park, in which there is a permanent exhibit of contemporary sculptures by Portuguese and foreign artists. At one end of the park is the Centro de Arte Moderna José de Azeredo Perdigão (CAMJAP), with its many departments and collections, including the Centro Artistico Infantil (Children's Art Center or CAI).
