When this theater was built in 1927, it was called the Stanley Theater and was crowned the city's "Palace of Amusement." Since that time, it has housed a variety of performers - from rock groups in the early 1980's to world-class operas and classical concerts. In 1987, restoration was completed in the efforts to make the interior look as it did on opening night 60 years before. Today, Benedum Center still wows audiences with the impressive domed ceiling, opulent color design, and Georgian-Classical decor. The theater has full bookings throughout the year with a variety of styles of performance. Check out the website for updated playbills and enjoy a night out in this historic building.
