Originally the American Horse Exchange, this venue resurfaced as The Winter Garden Theater in 1911. Having been home to Andrew Lloyd Webbers 'Cats' for an extraordinarily long period of twenty years, the theater closed for a makeover. It reopened in 2002, and has been staging 'Mamma Mia' since then. A huge seating capacity of about 1526 makes this an ideal place to stage musical extravaganzas. Musical theater buffs cannot ignore this place if you are in the Big Apple.
