1 Lodge Street, Asheville, NC, United States, 28803
A crown jewel of Asheville, Biltmore Estate seamlessly chronicles the legendary lineage of the Vanderbilts. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, it was built between 1889 and 1895 by architect Richard Morris Hunt as a luxurious summer house for George Washington Vanderbilt II. It includes the Biltmore House, a four-story Châteauesque-style palace. With 250 rooms, including 35 bedrooms and 43 bathrooms, it is one of the largest private homes in the country. Featuring elegant furniture, ornate interiors, and rare antiques that exude grandeur, the house shelters an array of opulent spaces like the enormous Banquet Hall and George Vanderbilt's master bedroom. A beautiful garden modeled on Victorian landscaping principles featuring delightful foliage and blooming flowers completes the magnificence of the estate.
