Standing in Sarankulma, the mighty Pirkkahalli complex is not only used for sport but also serves as the city's exhibition centre. The actual trade fair season lasts from April to late autumn but occasionally single events are held in winter too. Excellent transport connections, large parking space and the total area of 23,000 square metres in three halls provide an exceptional framework for big exhibitions. The centre also has modern seminar rooms. Every year, several events pull in tens of thousands of visitors. There are more than one possible organizer, but many of the largest fairs are arranged by Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd, who can also provide information on forthcoming events. Dog and cattle shows, various occupational fairs and technical exhibitions are often among the most popular events.
