Paterna is a municipal region located in Spain. It is famous for being the place, when during the Spanish Civil War, Augustine García Calvo, and Antonio Martín Hernández were martyred. Paterna is located just 5km from Valencia, and is also reputed for its firework displays. The famous Cordà de Paterna, the festival that illuminates the city with the light emitted from almost 2,000 fireworks lit per minute after being tied to a string is what draws hordes of tourists to this place.
