The familiar red silhouette of a roller coaster rising above the tree-lined stretch of Mission Beach is one of the most characteristic sights of Mission Bay. Belmont Park, Inaugurated on the 4th of July, 1925 under the name of Mission Beach Amusement Center, is a true vintage theme park. Although the park is home to a myriad of exhilarating rides, the Giant Dipper roller coaster is its undoubted centerpiece. One of the few remaining of its kind, this wooden coaster has been entertaining its patrons ever since the park opened its doors. For those not into heart-stopping thrills, fast-paced turns, and long free-falling drops, this picturesque ocean-front park also features an indoor swimming pool, a new wave-generation pool, and a family play-land.
