A historic event space opened in 1909 for the 11th German Gymnastics Festival, Festhalle Frankfurt is one of the most prominent historic gems. The venue sits in a magnificent Neo-Baroque structure with its imposing dome constructed by Fredrich von Thiersch. A portion of the venue remains incomplete, as the proposed warehouse section and conference rooms were never constructed. Today, with the capacity to hold up to 13,500 people, the hall is part of the Frankfurter Messegelände. Over a century old, Festhalle is also a venue for music and dance concerts, parties, opera, ice skating, tennis tournaments, conferences, and other big events.
