Opened in 1904 and now owned by Glasgow City Council, the King's is one of the UK's principal receiving theaters. It welcomes many major West End touring companies, being most famous for its musicals whilst also renowned locally for quality pantomime. The theater also houses several quality amateur companies, offering a wide-ranging program throughout the year. The spectacular auditorium has a seating capacity of 1785 and sports a most magnificent interior and an elegant design. Three elaborate cantilevered balconies give the theater an immense feeling of grandeur. Despite the relaxed dress code, you can hardly fail to feel like a king in this impressive arena.
